I chose to read the book night. I wanted to read it for the second book but I ended up getting a long way gone instead. So I decided to read night for the third book. I enjoy reading books about the past and about past wars. The first chapter so far I find just slightly boring, but I think most books are in the beginning because of being introduced to everyone and after that it usually gets better. I am excited to keep reading this book and see what all ends up happening.
ReplyDeleteAs you read through the book it get better. I think that it is hard and boring to read because of all the goofy German names they got over there. The book was a decent read and a solid 7/10 book. I enjoyed reading it.
DeleteI also enjoy reading books about the past, and I definitely agree with you about the first chapter being slow and kind of boring, but I'm excited to keep reading to find out what happens.
DeleteI agree that the start was very boring but i can say that after you get going into the book you can really get hooked
DeleteI agree the first chapter made me want a different book but it's getting better now.
Deleteim am reading the book basher five two and its also about this guy that's in war and he got shot out of there air by his enemy and is being chased by them

ReplyDeleteI picked the book night because it seemed interesting, and I didn't end up getting it for my second book so that's why I picked it. I wanted to read it after a lot of other people read it because they said it was a really good book and I like reading books about the past to see what it was like for everyone back then and what people in the book went through in their time. at first, the book started off boring and not a lot going on but now there's a lot going on and its very interesting and I'm excited to keep reading.
ReplyDeleteI think that the book is harder to read towards the beginning because so much is happening, But once you get through about a quarter of the book, it get easier to read.
DeleteI picked Night for the same reason. What do you expect will happen to Eliot and his father?
DeleteMy book also started off slow and boring but as I kept reading it got better and now it is hard to put down.
DeleteI also picked the book night i was told it was a good book and a short one
DeleteI also choose to read night as my third book because I didn't get it as my second book to read.
DeleteI also picked Night because I didn't get it for my second book and it sounded really good!
Deleteim reading the book basher five two its about a guy getting shot down in his jet and I also think its cool to read about what happened in the past.
DeleteI read this book as my second one, and thought it was very interesting, but it took me a while to get interested in the book. Are you interested in the book, or is it still boring?
Deletei have heard a lot of good things about that book, although i haven't read it myself yet i plan to sometime.
DeleteDid the book catch your attention from the start and was it a easy read, did it get eaiser to read as you were reading the book. I want to read it soon, it seems very interesting and a good read.
Deletethe book I'm reading is called Basher Five-two it's about a guy named Scott and he was an f-16 piolet and got shot out of the air by an enemy missel. i chose this book because i wanted to find out how he survived the crash and got away. there was no process other than pulling it off the shelf and seen that it was about the American air force, and it seemed like i would like it. the book just basically starts out what his daily routines were and what he had to do to prepare for a flight. he also talks about when he was younger and his first flight with his dad and he said in that moment he knew he wanted to fly some type of plane.
ReplyDeleteI tried reading war books but they are usually slower paced and start out with a big background story and lots of details that dont need to be is this book that way?
DeleteI chose the book The Alchemists. I chose this book because it was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I'm about 70 pages in and i really like how the story is told. It isn't like a normal book with chapters, its just a continuous story that doesn't pause. I find it hard for myself to stop reading because I'm glued into the book. If it were to have chapters I feel that book wouldn't be as good. 10/10 so far

DeleteMy book Shawshank redemption is fast paced too because it doesn't stop you read one part and think it will be dull and bam another plot twist it has a nice flow to it
Deletethis book seems interesting, and I would like to read it because I like how you said that it doesn't pause, and I could keep reading.
DeleteI had a vastly different experience reading alchemist. I found it slow and hard to read during the first 100 pages. I am glad you are having a better experience.
Deletethe book sounds good what is it about
DeleteI felt like my book caught my attention right away too and i didnt want to set it down i just wanted to keep reading it and i would really like to read this book in the future from what you are saying.
DeleteI chose the book Shawshank Redemption by stephen king it is about a man named andy dufrese who is in prison for wrongly charged for killing his wife and her secret lover it is narrated by another prisoner who goes buy the man who can get you anything because he can except your freedom the make the most out of being in prison i was hooked from the first page i read i chose this book because i really liked the movie
ReplyDeleteSteven Kind really is good with prison books another good one is the green mile it has a it more violence with fancy elements but over all it is a very good read.
DeleteI like books about prison and would love to read this one. It's interesting what happens in prison and especially in a book.

DeleteI choose the book Prisoner B- 3087. It sounded alot like the book night. It is about a 14 year old Jewish boy living in poland during the holocaust. He is taken to German work camps since he is a Jew and the Germans hate all Jews. He is the only member of his family still alive.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds very dark. Obviously it is based on true events but do you know if the boy was a real person? was the book written by him?
DeleteI am reading the book night and these two books sound similar. I am interested to see if they will continue to be the same.
Deletethe book that I chose to read is called "the enemy" written by Charlie Higson. the book is about a massive disease that infected everyone on earth 16 years before the collapse, the only people that were spared the infection were those that were born after the initial infection of everyone. it seems that even though the kids were born of infected parents they themselves were free of it. even though they had been infective 16 years prior it took said 16 years to start taking effect. the only non-dead or zombies are children, specifically 16 and below. they have banned together to survive and being forced to fight the dead to survive. I chose this book because it seemed very interesting. the librarian told me about it. the book is pretty good so far.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds interesting. I usually do not like fiction books however I am a big fan of the walking dead series. Is this story set in a current time period or in the future?
DeleteThis book sounds interesting to read. This sounds like a world war z type of book in my opinion, does it have any similarities to that?
DeleteI chose and the trees crept in. I chose it because I like reading mystery books. I went to the library and looked at mystery books. No, I really like the book so far. I was hooked when they started introducing the main character and all the back round from the past from Catherine.
ReplyDeleteI am also reading a mystery book about a girl who lost her memory and is trying to figure out who she really is. What's the main plot of your book?
DeleteMy book is a mystery book about a mother who keeps many secrets from her family which she thinks she is protecting them, but she is just hurting them. The three sisters never know what their mom is going to do or say to them.
DeleteI chose Night because I really wanted to read it during our last book selection, but I did not get the chance to. It was not very hard to find my book, I knew right off the bat and just asked Mrs. Winter where to find it. I wanted to read it because I wanted to learn more about the holocaust and I find the holocaust interesting. It started off very slowly, but it picked up extremely quickly. So many horrific and violent things have happened and I am only on page 50. The book started off describing how the author prays and what his peer thinks of it. So far I am a little bit hooked, but I am nervous to read on and discover what else is going to happen to Eliot.
ReplyDeleteI started reading this but it was just too slow for me. Your descriptive makes me wish I would've stuck it through.
DeleteHow is the book so far? I remember reading it but, I don't remember what all went down. How do you feel about it at the moment?
DeleteYes when reading the book you ask your self is this really what was going on? And sometimes you almost have to put the book down.
DeleteI decided to read The Girl Who was Supposed to Die which someone else picked out for me. I'm about halfway through the book and there are so many plot twists, I'm definitely hooked. This book is about a girl who wakes up one day in a cabin, facing death. She is then told she's a patient at a mental hospital, so she is in the process of learning who she is.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this book, I got hooked right away. I enjoy reading books like this. Do you think she is going to find out who she really is?
DeleteThis book sounds very interesting. This sounds a lot like my book where she is trying to find out the real her.
DeleteI read this book a few years ago and I loved it. I was so curious to how the book was going to end it didn't take me long to read.
DeleteIt is very interesting that you had someone else pick the book for you, they must have good taste is you are enjoying the book that much. It sounds really suspenseful, I'm excited to hear more about it.
DeleteI'm reading Chinese Handcuffs, I found the topics in the book to be intriguing and I would see people talk about it and they would be shocked over the events in the story and that made me interested in reading it. The story started with someone running and talking about some competition and the first chapter was a letter from Dillon to his brother who recently committed suicide. I did not expect to be very affected by the events in the story but no, I do feel affected by the events, specifically Jen's side of the story, Her childhood is very sad and reading about it made me feel sick and dizzy. I actually thought about finding another book because I'm unsure if I can handle it but I think I'll just force myself to read through it because I am curious as to what's going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thing happen to me reading that book it feels like it was goal to make it the most traumatic book you will read that is not nonfiction. It definitely is a hard read for its content. Its one of those book you either force yourself to forget or you can always remember.
DeleteFrom what I've heard, the ending isn't very concrete so if I think the ending is unsatisfying then yes, I WILL try to forget this book.
Deleteits a pretty good book
DeleteI also read this book; I definitely think the read is worth it. This book taught me a lot I definitely had to expect the unexpected while reading it.
DeleteI read this book as well and even though I think the story does start out kind of jumbled as you continue to read it it will continue to get better and its hard to believe all the things Dylan goes through
DeleteThe book I chose was "From here to Eternity" by Catlin Doughty, Catlin is a mortician La who is trying to de-commercialize and de medicalize funerals, So the family is more involved and don't fear death. I first heard of her from the mutter museum they make video's explaining there exhibit and there is one episode where it featured her and then i found out she made video's on what happens when you die and other mysteries and i was hooked. I'm interested in the different ways other cultures treat the dead and what is a good way and or bad way of doing it and it is very interesting too see how it is different from the us and how other counties see our funerals. And in away ho help me see how i were to plan my own funeral when I get there :D
ReplyDeleteI chose The Carpenter as my book. The reason I chose it is because Mrs. winters in the library suggested it to me. It is a story about a carpenter who crosses paths with another business man, the carpenter discovers him passed out in the middle of the road on his run. After this, the carpenter shares his success strategies with the business man. He talks about relieving stress and practicing effective principles in business. So far, I am really enjoying the book and learning a lot.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Night, the reason I picked this book was because I've always been interested about the holocaust. Also I heard a lot of people saying that it was a good book. The book starts of kind of slow and kind of hard to understand at some points but overall its a good book.
ReplyDeletewhat parts of this book hook you and make you keep reading? would it be the historical side or the charcter side
DeleteAre you hooked on the book?
DeleteI have also been interested in reading about the holocaust!
DeleteI am also reading this book because people told me it was a good book.
DeleteI agree with what you said about starting off slow but then picking up and having the reader hooked
ReplyDeleteI Decided to read. "Mamba Mentality" by Kobe Bryant, the reason I chose this book is because, Kobe Bryant is such an inspiration to me. I feel this book would be a good book for the last one, and I feel that it will pull me in enough to really enjoy it. I didn't have any trouble finding this book it was something I wanted to read for a while. The book starts off with Kobe explaining his experience with his teammates and coaches, then slowly gets into his experience of playing with other NBA greats, such as himself. So far i am hooked to the book, it's keeping me entertained.
ReplyDeleteI think that this would be a very interesting book to read to see how Kobe envisioned the game and all of his experiences.
DeleteI've heard people say that you play basketball so I can understand why you find Kobe Bryant to be an inspiration. May he rest in peace. The last book I chose was I am Malala and I picked it because I was inspired my her story so I understand picking a book because of that reason
DeleteI decided to read the gunslinger which is the first book in the dark tower series. I decided to read it because I had seen a review about the book, and it seemed like something I would enjoy. and so far, I have definitely enjoyed it, while is starts off rather slow I was hooked anyway because of how well written it is.
ReplyDeleteI am reading If You Tell by Gregg Olsen. I read the inside of the book and really enjoyed it. I definitely got hooked. If You Tell is a true story of murder, family secrets, and the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. It is a nonfiction true crime book published in 2019. It documents the story of Nikki, Sami, and Tori Knotek, sisters who survived living with their mother, Shelly Knotek, who would ultimately be responsible for the infamous Raymond torture killings in Washington State.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a good book!
DeleteIf you tell sounds like a very mysterious book. I never really read much books about murder, family secrets i only watched many movies about that kinda topics. It does sound like ill keep you wanting to read though and keep you wondering what is going to happen next. Does it keep you hooked? What exactly made you choose this book how did you find it? Was there a process you went to when choosing this certain book?
DeleteI definitely need to read this! My book is similar to this just focused on a smaller group of people so i think i could find yours very intersting.
DeleteI have heard this book is really good. Sounds very interesting
Deletemy book also starts of slow but hooked me with how well it was written, what factors hooked you on your book?
ReplyDeleteI choose Running loose. I picked this book because i wanted to read it the first time but now i am reading it. I knew it was the book i wanted because it is about a senior in high school football. My friend read the book and he said it was good. I though this book would just be about louie but his friends are brought up alot in the book. I was hooked because his high school coach said and does the same thing as penner.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Night, because I heard that it is a very good read and can really open your eyes to the experience of the life of a Jew during World War two. It was easy to find because it was one of the books from the second section. At the start of the book i already knew what was going to happen because we all have learned so much about World War Two and how the Jews were put into ghettos and then transferred to concentration camps. So, the start was kind of boring but after it got going I definitely got hooked.
ReplyDeleteI can agree, when i got around chapter 3 I couldn't put the book down because it was so entertaining and there was so much emotions put into it.
ReplyDeleteYes i choose this book for my 3rd book and i like it too its hard to stop readding at some spots because its a good book about a senior in high school.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson because it seemed interesting to me. The book starts off in detention where Hayley, the main character, goes to school. I enjoy reading this book because it is somewhat similar to my life experiences.
ReplyDeleteYour book has an interesting name to it. Have you figured out as to why the Laurie Halse Anderson named the book The Impossible Knife of Memory? Also, what did Hayley do to get detention? Also, how does this relate to your life experiences?
DeleteLaurie Halse Anderson named this book the impossible knife of memory because memory is the main topic in this book. Hayley was sent to detention because she was rude to her teacher, Mr. Diaz. This book relates to me because I have also moved from place to place.
DeleteI chose the book night by Elie Wiesel because I heard it was a short quick read it is about Elie and his family's experience being taking from their home and moved into concentration camps
ReplyDeleteI have heard many good things about this book. Is there anything you found interesting or curious about?
Deletenight focuses more on the holocaust part where mine focuses on the soldiers who fought during world war 2 (Hunter Fosdal)
DeleteI chose to read the book night because it seemed interesting and I wanted to read it for my second book but didn't get it. I also picked it because I like to read about history. I was hooked on the book when the Jews arrived at a prison camp.
ReplyDeleteI'm also reading the book Night and i agree it got more interesting when they got to the camp.
DeleteI read this book for my second book, I thought it was a very slow starting book, do you think that also?
Deletethis book i would've liked to read but soldier boys is also in that time zone (Hunter Fosdal)
DeleteI chose to read the book Night by Elie Wiesel. I chose it because it was my first pick for our 2nd book, but I didn't get it. The main reason I picked it is because I've never read a bad book about the holocaust. The first chapter wasn't the best but it's getting better, and I'm hooked on it now that more is happening then them just being on their way to the camp.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. I chose this book because I have read many other books by her and I love them. The book is about a girl who gets cheated on and finds a new group of friends. Whenever I read her books, once I start I can't stop because I am so hooked to find out what happens next.
ReplyDeleteI have not read any of her books, but everyone says they are so good. I may have to check them out after reading your response.
DeleteI have also heard many good things about her books. Are all of her books different or do they follow the same characters??
DeleteI am reading a book by her too and I can agree with you that once you start reading you can't stop.
Deletei have heard many good things about that book and though of reading it too but maybe i will later

ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book The Justice Project by Michael Betcherman. The first reason is because the book catches my interest, winter sports like snowboarding. Also, I have read some of Michael Betcherman's books and enjoyed them. This book is about a kid in high school named Matt. His plan is to get a scholarship and play football, until he crashes while snowboarding and ruins his leg. Right now I am hooked on the book because I want to find out what Matt is going to do with his life.
ReplyDeleteI choose to read the book Goodbye Perfect by Sara Barnard. I alittle about the book is its about a girl named eden who has a best friend since like forever. Her and Bonnie is like complete opposites. Eden is more the street smart. Bonnie has always been about book smarts and super smart. Eden was adopted with her younger sister Daisy. In the book eden and bonnie was studying for this huge exams coming in and Bonnie was talking about how she wants to just leave and get away. Then randomly she ran away and told no one. Except for texted eden and told her not to tell anyone. So even with the police asks eden where Bonnie went she has to lie. For her best friend. Why i choose it is because i found it in the library and it sounded good. Overall i am definitely hooked in the book.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds really interesting especially that Eden lied to the police about Bonnie because of a promise. Also, for lying to the police even when Eden doesn't really know if Bonnie is safe or if she is injured at the moment. Do you think Eden will keep this secret forever until Bonnie comes back (if she ever does) or will she break and tell the police. Also, do you think that you could keep a secret like that?
DeleteYes I agree, this is a very good book once you get through the first few chapters.
ReplyDeleteThe book I chose was Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. The reason I chose this book is actually because of the movie. I have been wanting to see this movie and once I actually seen it, I decided that this was going to be the book that I would read for my last and final book in English. Where the Crawdads Sing is about a little girl named Kya and her family. Their family are known as the outcast because they live on the mash. Kya's father is not the nicest man so once her mother left the rest of her siblings left to leaving her all alone. Kya is practically raising herself because her father is not really ever there and when he is she is better to just stay out of his way. The book is already kind of different from the movie, which is a little confusing but overall, it is a pretty good book so far.
ReplyDeleteWhere the Crawdads sing does sound like a really good book. I never seen the movie yet do u think i sound watch the movie first before i read the book or does it no matter. How long was Kyas mom the story for? Why did she leave and leave kya by herself? Does the book keep you hooked and wanting to read more?
DeleteI would like to read this book sometime as well I have seen the movie and i think it is a great story to see unfold i was wondering if the book is the same way?
DeleteI read running lose for my first book and it was very good. I think that was one of the only books I liked because it was about sports and sportsmanship.
ReplyDeleteI choose to read the Wolf Hollow by Victoria Houston. I choose this book because it is the type of books that I like to read. This is a book that is a mystery and makes you wonder. In the beginning of my book there is a group of 4 teenagers that go into a store just being teens you would think. They are looking at DVDs and acting like all teenagers do but they are actually there for a citizen's arrest. This man walked up to Mason and showed her the picture of her that he took off TV and that's when they knew that their suspicions of him being a sexual predator were correct. Lew and John came to the store to question the kids and basically told them kids that next time they would not scare the guy away. Noah was arrested for the suspicions of being the sexual predator. This was strange to everyone because his family was rich and had the perfect life as what they made it out to be. But Noah is later bailed out of jail by his mother. So far, the book has me hooked and I am wondering if Noah is actually guilty or not.
ReplyDeletei choose the book bull rider. i choose the book because it looked good when i picked it up. also i like going to rodeos. it also was good when i read the back of the book.
ReplyDeleteI choose the book night because i like to learn about the concentration camps. I read the summary on it when I was choosing my second book and it really interested me. it started off pretty interesting by telling what happen in the first part of the war what they did with the jews.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book "It Ends with Us", by Colleen Hoover. I chose this book because I have heard many good things about the author and the book. I would get adds on my social media apps about this particular book, so I decided to give it a try. Now that I have started reading, I understand the popularity surrounding the book. It started with a girl named Lilly going to a rooftop of an apartment building after she gave an "anti-eulogy" at her father's funeral. She meets Ryle on the rooftop, and they start to spark a connection. But it is known right off the bat that they want different things in a relationship.
ReplyDeleteI have also heard good things about Colleen Hoover's books. In my book, my main character, Lia has also met someone out of nowhere and they have sparked a connection. Do you think Lilly and Ryle will work it out?
DeleteI chose to read Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. I chose this book because I have read two of her books already and liked them. I found the book by going through authors I have already read and chose one that seemed good. This book is a little more different than I thought it would be. It starts with the main character Lia losing her ex-best friend by dying but nobody knows how it happened or why. I get hooked at different times. Usually if it gets to a part about knowing something about Cassie then it grabs my attention but otherwise, I am not.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, this book focuses on two main people, the husband(Nick) and the wife(Amy). This book was recommended to me by Ms. Reuter she asked me my interest and I told her I am interested in romance and mystery, and this is the book she offered to me. This book revolves around a relationship between two people, but one day one of them disappears. I really like the book it is very good and hard to put down, in the beginning I was confused because of the way the book is laid out into two different perspectives and times. I have been hooked from the moment she disappeared and haven't been able to stop reading.
ReplyDeleteI chose to read the book Reminders of Him. I chose this book because my friend it was really good and I should read it. My thoughts about the new book are good because the book is really good and I don't usually like to read but this book makes me read a lot. The start of it makes me have question so you just keep reading. I have been hooked from the second chapter
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Grenade, By: Alan Gratz. The reason I chose this book was because I like books about war whether they are fiction or nonfiction, I have also read some of the other books this author has written and I really enjoyed them as well. The process of finding this book was easy I was just looking around in the library and this book caught my eye and after reading the paragraph on the back I was hooked. It tells the story of two different people in war one is a marine who is on his first tour during ww2 the second perspective is a boy in a country that was taken over by japan. and throughout the story these two characters are going to meet. After reading the first few chapters I am definitely hooked because of all the action and detail.
ReplyDeletei chose to read the book The girl who was supposed to die, by April Henry. the reason i chose to read this book is because it should very interesting. just reading the back of the book got me hooked and wanted to keep reading. my thoughts on this book is good because i don't like reading but this book makes me want to keep reading. the book starts by getting your attention right away so you don't have to wait to get hook it will get hook on the first page.
ReplyDeleteHunter Fosdal. i chose the book called Soldier boys. This book is placed into World War 2 and two sides of the story Dieter a Hitler Youth Leader and Spencer a high school kid who went into the airborne division both wanting to go into battle. i had no reason i chose this book and i found it when asking the librarian.
ReplyDeletethe book i chose was the summer i turned pretty. i chose this book because ive watched the show and i wanted to read the book to see the difference. in the book a girl named belly grew up over the time before the next summer, while at the beach house her bestfriends Jeremiah and Conrad have notice the change in her. belly has feeling for conrad but he considers her as his little sister. belly trys to move on but she finds her way back everytime conrad speaks to her. the boys mother has cancer and this will be her last summer spending with them but no one knows it because shes keeping it a secret thats she dying.
ReplyDeleteI chose the book Terror At The Zoo by Peg Kehret, I chose this book because the title caught my attention and after i read the summery i thought it would be a very good read for me. i looked in the fiction section to find something that would interest me and something that i havent read about before. I think that this book caught my attention right away because as soon as i started reading i didnt want to set the book down and usually i dont like to read. At the start Ellen talks about her parents being on vaction and how her and her little brother get to stay over night at the zoo for a present from there grandparents.
ReplyDeleteLiz recommended Sold to me. She mentioned it was about prostitution and it took place in another country and that’s all it took for me to read it. The main character is this girl and she talks about her life and how her family is poor. It reminds me of “i am malala” because they both deal with different cultures and because the women and girls in both these books are treated unequal to men. These topics are interesting for me so I am hooked so far
ReplyDelete
